Out of the operating room. Tom did excellent in surgery and the surgeons are pleased. Tom is on the vent and able to breathing on his own when pressure is reduced, which is a huge praise. The first attempt at waking Tom he had high respirations, so the medical team put him under sedation again. His pain is being managed by an anesthetic block and later will be an epidural. They are giving him fluids and maintaining his blood pressure. Soon they are hoping to attempt waking him again and if is responsive and breathing well the breathing tube can be removed. Tom looks good and the family is hopeful and supportive in this time.
